.:i do the work. you get the stuff

:.you’re gonna’ benefit from some of my explorations out there on the internet. namely, you’re going to benefit from some useful plug-ins for firefox that i come across. i’m probably going to just keep adding to this particular post, so you’ll probably see it pop-up fairly frequently.

obviously, you have to have firefox to make these work. if you don’t have firefox, go get it NOW and use it from now on.

tonight’s menu - 03.04.07 (for the most part, all descriptions taken from their respective download pages)

gmail space - This extension allows you to use your Gmail Space (2.8 GB and growing) for file storage. It acts as an online drive, so you can upload files from your hard drive and access them from every Internet capable system.

foxmarks bookmarks synchronizer - It’s a pain to have to remember your bookmarks from computer to computer. Don’t worry about that anymore. Foxmarks keeps your bookmarks automatically synchronized between two or more computers. A simple wizard guides you through the startup process. Foxmarks works silently in the background. As a bonus feature, you can access your bookmarks from anywhere via my.foxcloud.com.

fireFTP: Mmmmm…built in FTP goodness. I like it alot. FireFT\P is a free, secure, cross-platform FTP client for Firefox that provides easy and intuitive access to FTP servers.

firebug - If you’re any kind of Web dev geek with ANY gall whatsoever, you have this installed. and if you don’t…well…dammit, you have no gall. FireBug lets you explore the inner workings of Web pages. All of the tools you need to debug and perfect your JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and Ajax are brought together into one seamless experience, including HTML and CSS inspectors, a debugger, error console, and command line.

have any that you recommend? recommend ‘em in the comments and i’ll just keep adding them to this post. that’s what we call T.E.A.M.work.

thank you, band camp, for that gloriously cheese saying that i haven’t been able to shake from my brain for the past years.

.:update - 3/24/07:.

more fun firefox plug=ins for you

adblock plus - pop-ups…the bane of any computer user’s existence. install adblock plus and select a filter subscription. if you encounter an ad your subscription does not take care of, right-click it and select “adblock.”

jahjah - lets you make free or very low cost global telephone calls directly from firefox using your regular mobile or landline phone. no headsets, microphones, special equipment, or fees are required.

performancing - i use this one. it’s a full-featured blog editor that sits right in your firefox browser and lets you post to your blog easily. you can drag and drop formatted content, including images, from the page you are browsing and take notes as well as post to your blog.

download statusbar - i hate the stupid download bar that pops-up everytime you want to download something. this takes care of that problem. the fully customizable interface auto-hides when not in use, allowing full control without interruption.

.:update - 5/19/07:.

clipmarks -  with Clipmarks, you can clip the best parts of web pages. whether it’s a paragraph, sentence, image or video, you can capture just the pieces you want without having to bookmark the entire page.

PDF download -  allows to choose if you want to view a PDF file inside the browser (as PDF or HTML), if you want to view it outside Firefox with your default or custom PDF reader, or if you want to download it.

map+ -  view a Yahoo! map of a selected address without having to open a new window or tab.
